7 Things you should know about eyelash extensions

LASHES REQUIRE GOOD AFTERCARE

Although lashes are beautiful & convenient to have, they are a luxury treatment that requires proper aftercare. Before getting lashes it is important to ask your lash artist how to look after your lashes and what to avoid. You will have to come back in every 2-3 weeks for a touch-up session, where any gaps will be filled getting you back to a full set! Check out our range of lash care products

EACH SET IS TOTALLY UNIQUE

No two people are the same or have the same natural lashes, so, therefore, no two sets will be exactly the same. Your lash artist will take into consideration the health, direction of growth and length of your natural lashes and choose a suitable ‘lash map’, curl and thickness to apply. You can let your lash artist know your preferred style but remember it all depends on your natural lashes!

LASHES CAN CAUSE DAMAGE, BUT THEY DON’T HAVE TO.

Many people love the idea of lash extensions but are scared because of all the horror stories out there on how damaging lashes can be. Let me tell you a secret… Yes, they can cause damage. If they are not applied correctly, performed by someone who isn’t properly trained if you pull & pick at your lash extensions if you are not keeping up with proper aftercare. All of these factors can lead to damage. At Jaylash Beauty, we pride ourselves on our expert training and knowledge on the application process, we will NEVER comprise the integrity of your lashes for a ‘look’. It is also down to you, to follow the aftercare advice & show your lashes some love!

LASH EXTENSIONS = TIME SAVER

Yes, I just made that up. The 2-3 hours you spend in our comfortable studio getting your lashes done will save you time & makeup every day! Lashes make everything better and you will find you are wearing less makeup because your lashes are doing all the talking. If you are always in a hurry, especially in the morning, it saves you time from applying layers of mascara!

LOSING A LASH ISN’T THE END OF THE WORLD

Did you know you lose 1-5 natural lashes per day? You may not notice because natural lashes are super fine but when you have a big, dark extension attached to it, alarm bells may go off. Each extension is applied directly on to one of your natural lashes, so when your natural eyelashes fall, the extensions will also fall out with it. We each have our own individual lash cycle and this, almost other factors will determine how long the eyelashes extension will last. This is why it is suggested to get a refill 2-3 weeks after you get your eyelash filled

LASH REMOVAL IS NOT DIY

You cannot remove your extensions yourself without damaging your natural lashes. Unless you have an at-home eyelash extension removal, it is recommended to always get your lashes taken off by your professional lash artist. Why? Because the adhesive we use is so strong, only a professional removed will quickly and safely break the bond down & not cause any damage.

YES, YOU CAN STILL WEAR MAKEUP

You do not have to stop wearing eye makeup, just be mindful of the products you are using, oil-based mascara and eyeliner can cause a breakdown to the eyelash adhesive. Remember to use an oil-free or water-based eye makeup remover & give your lashes a good clean with a mild shampoo.
